And so, I'm finally back to corporate life (after 9 entire months) and ready to start from ground zero. It's all about restarting the entire drill of waking up early, reverting my wardrobe back to "work mode", and rebooting myself to gear up for new work challenges.

This time round it feels a tad different from the past. I wake up pretty early these days (even when I don't have to) and I enjoy the s l o w w w w w process of getting ready. I could work on a couple of emails, enjoy a long hot shower, and saunter casually to the train station AND still in time to grab my brunch and coffee before reaching office at 9am or earlier.

It does feel good to have "more time" in my hand.

With this extra time I have in my daily commute, I started to type my thoughts and snap pictures of random sights as a rookie salarywoman "navigating" her way (and life) around in the Central Business District.

I used to drink KOO just for the sake of feeling awake to start the day right. Due to my work nature now, I get to learn and appreciate the art of brewing kopi. You would think the sock they used to brew the kopi is the real magic but really, there are so many more elements to make good kopi. It goes right down to water temperature and even the apparatus used. Notice the metallic "pot" that comes with a super long spout you see at every kopitiam? Even the pot has a duty and its meaning.

Now besides being a great morning booster, drinking KOO reminds me of the hard work and effort business owners put into serving each cup. Remember to appreciate the uncles and aunties who brew good kopi ok?

It has been a long time since I just wear something "corporate-ish". I'm so used to wearing flat mules anywhere! And with new shoes comes new blisters.

Broke into a new pair of shoes that comes with thin back strap to work. I mean, how wrong can it go... right? I could barely make my way to the train station, with those thin, fiesty straps biting into ankle with every move.

I took a cab home once I alighted from the train station, and the distance was less than 1km away. And that pair of shoes chucked somewhere in the dark corners of the cabinet.

Probably never gonna see light again.

I'm really bad with directions - Google map is such a life saviour to navigate through the confusing CBD and advise on the right bus/train routes!

The bane of my life, period.

This was my top choice because it is quick to eat and fuss-free. I tried eating this combination for 2 weeks and boy... Siew Mais are scary now. Thankfully I went out exploring more food options with my colleagues and there are so many hidden gems in the area! Yum!

A little milestone unlocked - I survived the first month at work!

Looking forward to more adventures ahead, wish me luck everyone :) Happy holidays!
